Meet Your Retreat Hosts

  • Founder

Bedouin Roots Experiences was born from Kenza's love of mindfulness and travel. Growing up in Morocco and later venturing to the United States and Canada, she witnessed the power of human connection firsthand. However, as the world became more digitally connected, she noticed a growing sense of disconnection, both from ourselves and from others. After leading a 14-year career in the corporate world, Kenza transitioned her career into wellness after experiencing an illness that became a life-changing turning point, inspiring her on a journey of profound self-discovery. She delved into an array of transformative experiences, seeking healing and personal growth. Her commitment to Mindfulness deepened through her enrollment in the Intensive mindfulness Practice Program at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), coupled with the deeply enriching learnings she explored through continuing education on human consciousness, body mapping, yoga, emotional anatomy, non-violent communication and somatic practices.

These experiences inspired her to create Bedouin Roots. It's a space where people from all walks of life can unite, celebrating diversity, and nurturing a more compassionate and caring world; a holistic journey that fosters personal growth, connection, culture and exploration.

She lives part of the year in Vancouver, Canada, part in Morocco and Spain.

  • Collaborator

My mind and body studies began 30 years ago with a degree in physical education which led to anthropology, Buddhist psychology and merged with yoga philosophy and teaching. And in key challenges of my life, I have received emotional support through counselling therapy that merged with mindfulness practices and deepened my sense of living a creative life which moves with constant change. This process was so nurturing and insightful that I wanted to support others in their unique capacity to move through grief, loss and anxiety to influence the flow of well-being.

It is a universal human need to be witnessed and compassionately accompanied in telling your intimate stories and making sense of your pains and the unknown. It also takes great courage to step into a therapeutic alliance to trust and understand how you can embody new insights and better ways to cope and flourish.

What People Are Saying

  • "I appreciated Vy’s constant reminder that we are practicing β€œplanting seeds” of kindness, connection, and joy to cultivate in the space of awareness. Vy exemplifies the rare quality of good teaching that is not reduced to technique but comes from the identity and integrity of the teacher as practitioner.”

Jason Cruze, Community Wellness Coach & Humanities Teacher

  • β€œI wouldn't be where I am in my mindfulness journey had it not been for Vy. I had been shyly toying with the idea of meditation for years, and it was with Vy that my journey began in earnest. Through her gentle, kind way of showing the way rather than "telling" me how to meditate, I was able to really begin my practice."

    Tala Abbasi, Impact Investment Consultant

  • β€œSara's yoga sessions are truly rejuvenating experience! Her passion for yoga shines through in every pose and guided breath. Her classes leave me feeling centered, relaxed, and grateful to have such a dedicated and inspiring colleague. Thank you, Sara, for sharing your love for yoga with us.”
